'EFECTED-'VISION
July 15, 2009 07:04 PM PDT
Soulful-vibe'y joints that I have been playing lately. A few covers from the 80's reworked into relevant, now sound. It seems that European music makers get it, or I get them, whichever. All I can say is, thank God someone gets it. House music, disco, funk, R&B, soul; I get it, now you can too. Enjoy! Peace & Love Troy. How do I Believe?

Electro house beats, funky new re-workings of classics, and brand new, soon to become classics. Shannon sets the stage for this musical journey, I think this mix is how this track should have always sounded. Suzanne Palmer gets re-styled, working gospel and funky electro that makes you Believe!! And Georgie Porgie gets an electro take on "I believe in love!" As always, peace and love, and above all, Believe!! Troy Two Twenty O Nine

I made this on 2-20-09, obviously, and I just wanted to make a CD with all new music. (Some very new as of the day I made it) Please let me know if you enjoy it! Peace and Love always, Troy Music Revolution

More of an electronic vibe, with the emphasis on the future sound of music. Using a few older tracks, but featuring the dubs, or seldom used remixes to showcase this now sound. The title track, which is last on the set, is the only one not heavy on manufactured sound, but rather a classic head banging thrash, with the mantra to "start the Music Revolution, NOW!" I made this in mid 2008, while gathering new tracks for a party I played at Blue on South Beach. Some old, some new, some re-made and new again. All in all, some great tracks that still move me today. I hope you enjoy it. White Album 2008

This entry is from late 2007, but still worth a listen, beginning with Billy Ray Martin's Undisco Me. Undisco indeed! The obvious trend towards electronic, filtered sound is here for good or for bad. (mostly good lately) But woven throughout this "fresh" new sound is the underpinnings of classic house, and classic disco! I love all this music, but refuse to believe that disco ever did or ever will die. Peace & Love always, Troy |
About TroyI have been DJing for 10 years now, and my love for music and dancing is the very fabric of my being. I have always been drawn to music, as a child I used to stay in my room listening to my albums for hours on end. I would have to listen to music each morning before school, much to my parents dismay, and as soon as I returned home from school, the first thing I would do is play my records. As a teen, I would always take over the stereo at every party I attended and made sure the people were dancing and singing. I first tried DJing on real equipment at a lounge I was managing in South Beach, and found I instantly knew how to work the mixer and controls in the DJ booth.(the scheduled dj did not show up!!) So without anyone to teach me, I taught myself. Over the next few years I was given the opportunity to play in some of the hottest clubs on South Beach. The early gigs were not always perfect, but over time, my comfort with mixing and my abilities grew. And after a 3 year residency at Laundry Bar on Thursday nights, I grew into my own and found my voice. I will always DJ, for the rest of my life. The records, and the music are now who I am. Music is joy, and my joy is music. Music lifts up our souls and brings our spirit together. I hope you enjoy the music I play, please give me your reactions and let me know if you love something.
